Welcome to the Washington Gender Alliance
We are a support and educational organization dedicated to helping people deal with the issues of gender identity and/or expression, be it their own, or those of someone in their lives. We are a non-profit organization which serves the state of Washington.
The Alliance holds support meetings run by trained peer facilitators that we select, to help people who are questioning their gender, coming to terms with their true gender identity, negotiating the coming out process, navigating transition (if applicable), or are looking for information for themselves or someone in their life. Currently, we are running three weekly Open Support meetings in three cities which are appropriate for adults. At times, we have also offered specialized support meetings for non-transgendered people who are our friends and family, and for male-identified individuals who were raised as females.
The Alliance offers speakers for any school, professional group, or community organization. We have spoken at Western Washington University in Bellingham in the Sociology and Psychology departments, the Women's Studies program, and in Fairhaven College. We have been invited speakers at Washington State University in Pullman. And we've made presentations to Gay City University (Seattle), Links and Alliances youth conference (Everett), and Rainbow Train of Senior Services of King County, among others. To request a speaker, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or call 360-445-2411.
